For most girls, we have dreamt of our perfect wedding day since kindergarten; the type of dress we’ll wear, what the flowers will look like, the bridesmaid dresses, and everything in between.
The Pinterest craze is not helping this cause either. The wedding boards fill our heads with magical dreams of designer wedding dresses made from hand sewn lace, an 80 tiered wedding cake with the perfect vintage cake topper, and the most adorable hand crafted centerpieces a girl could ask for.
But it isn’t until you get engaged and start to plan your real wedding that you realize these so called “perfect” details come with a pretty hefty price tag.
According to www.theknot.com the average wedding in the United States costs a whopping $28, 427! I don’t know about all of you, but I can think of a lot of things I could buy for that amount of money that will last a whole lot longer than one frivolous afternoon.
So my advice to all the recently engaged couples out there? Don’t let your Pinterest dreams get the best of you. A year from your wedding day no one who attended your big day, including yourself, is going to remember what your centerpieces consisted of or how many hand sewn crystals were on your dress.
